How Does the Color of Your Room Affect Your Mood?

There are so many colors in a rainbow When painting a room, think about what you want to feel in the room. Each color has a psychological meaning. Your mood is affected by the colors around you. Every color brings up a specific mood, for instance, red brings up anger, yellow cheerfulness and green represents growth and change. So the color you pick makes a significant difference in the overall feeling in the room. What mood do you want to create and which colors will help you achieve that mood?

There is help out there to help you decide, magazines, decorating books, go to Home Depot, they have employees who can explain what the colors represent. Paint is fairly inexpensive and transforms a room more quickly than anything else. Light colors make rooms seem larger and brighter. Dark colors are warm; and give large rooms a more intimate feeling.

Red raises a room’s energy level. It’s a good choice when you want to stir up excitement. Red can increase your raise blood pressure, and heart rate. Crimson can make some people feel irritable. With red invoking feelings of rage and hostility, it is a color that should be avoided as the main color of a room. Yellow reminds us of happiness and sunshine Blue is considered calming, relaxing, and serene. It brings down a persons’ blood pressure and heart rate. Green is considered the color to promote relaxation and serenity. Purple is rich, dramatic, and sophisticates, associated with creativity and luxury The color orange is all about excitement, enthusiasm and is an energetic color.
